Another Two Loop 101 Ramps in Phoenix to Close for Three Months

The Arizona Department of Transportation is ramping up construction in north Phoenix on a $185 million project on the Loop 101 Pima Freeway.

The eastbound Loop 101 on-ramp and westbound off-ramp at Seventh Avenue will close for approximately three months starting at 9 p.m. Sunday to allow for work on a freeway widening project, which is expected to be completed in early 2021.

The eastbound on-ramp and westbound off-ramp at Seventh Street have been closed since early September for the 13-mile project and are expected to reopen near the same time in March.

The closures will allow time for workers to widen bridges and reconstruct ramps to make room for new freeway lanes.

Drivers traveling westbound on the Loop 101 can exit at Seventh Street and enter the freeway from Beardsley Road during the closures. Eastbound drivers can exit at Seventh Avenue and exit at Seventh Street.

The project, which started in February, will add lanes and make other improvements between Interstate 17 and Pima Road. The project will cost $185 million.
