A holiday lantern arts festival that features 10 million lights and 75 displays is opening at the Phoenix Fairgrounds.

Lights of the World will run four nights a week plus holidays until Jan. 12 near 19th Avenue and McDowell Road.

The show combines the Chinese tradition of lantern festivals with modern technology and lights.

Two separate shows on the fairgrounds — the Sea Lion Splash and Puppetone Rockers — are free with admission.

Food and crafts will be available. Parking will be $10, cash only!

Tickets for the event start at $17.99 for adults. Discounts are available for children and seniors. Rides can be purchased for an additional cost.

Those who want to purchase a season pass can do so for $45.

It will be open Thursdays through Sunday from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The lights show will also be open on Christmas Eve, Christmas, Dec. 30, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
