Cirque du Soleil is bringing “Ovo,” an insect-themed show, to Phoenix for six shows in early 2020.

The troupe’s acrobats, dancers, singers and musicians will perform “Ovo” – Portuguese for egg – Feb. 20-23 at Talking Stick Resort Arena.

Shows are scheduled at 7:30 p.m. each night of the run plus 4 p.m. on Feb. 22 and 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 23.

Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday at 10 a.m., but they are available now through a presale that started on Monday.

Ovo portrays insects working, playing, fighting and looking for love in a world “filled with biodiversity, beauty, action and moments of quiet emotion.”

Ovo debuted in 2009 and has since been performed for more than 6 million fans in 24 countries around the world.

It’s not the only Cirque du Soleil show coming to Arizona next year.

“Axel” – a new ice skating show – is headed to Prescott Valley’s Findlay Toyota Center for four performances in March and the Tucson Arena for six performances in April.
