Puspa Lohmeyer, the acclaimed fashion photographer and visual artist behind some of Arizona’s most iconic images in Territory magazine, is launching her first experimental short film, Anodyne, with a premiere and soundtrack release by Wooden Tooth Records. Admission to the event is free.

The event will be held on Saturday, October 26 at 9:00 p.m. at The Dirty Drummer, located at 2303 N 44th Street in Phoenix.

The product of spontaneous collaboration from a group of artist friends in Bisbee, Anodyne tells an apocalyptic, timeless yet timely, love story through glossy black and white camerawork and a haunting original score by Ryan O’Rourke. Originally conceptualized as a music video by Ryan O’Rourke and Tiffany Alexander under Puspa Lohmeyer’s direction Anodyne quickly grew into much more. The story was further developed, scenes where added and the project took the shape of a soundtrack centric short film.

Through her fine-art photography, Puspa has been pushing the boundaries of visual narrative for years. You can find her work published in the pages of Territory Magazine and exhibited at The Tucson Museum of Art. Anodyne is her latest output – captured through the same lens but this time recorded as motion film.
