The IRS is looking for volunteers from Arizona to help them by providing free tax help during the 2020 season.
According to a press release, they do not require volunteers to have any previous tax experience.
Those who want to volunteer can either take tax law training online or in a classroom from November through January.
According to a press release, over 2,200 state residents helped prepare over 88,000 tax returns last year.
“The IRS and its partners are looking for volunteers that are interested in taking a little time to learn about taxes and then helping others prepare federal income tax returns for free,” agency spokesperson David Tucker II said in the release. “People of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to volunteer.”
The IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and Tax Counseling for the Elderly programs offer free tax preparation to people with low/moderate income, including both seniors and those with disabilities.
According to the IRS, volunteers helped prepare more than 3.2 million returns last year across the U.S.
