Children’s Cancer Network Pinwheels For Hope Event

To mark Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and shine a light on pediatric cancer in Arizona, Children’s Cancer Network will host Pinwheels for Hope, a two-day, pop-up event at Biltmore Fashion Park designed to rally the community around the cause, raise much-needed funds for basic needs and aid families facing financial challenges as a result of a pediatric cancer diagnosis.

Nine hundred golden pinwheels will be on display in the main courtyard of the Biltmore Fashion Park.  The pinwheels collectively represent the approximate number of Arizona children undergoing treatment for cancer annually.  With more than 300 children diagnosed with cancer each year in Arizona, and the average length of treatment for the most common childhood cancer being from three to three and a half years, the need to support these families is greater than ever.

Children’s Cancer Network will invite shoppers, local businesses, and the larger community to make a $25 donation onsite at the Biltmore or online at childrenscancernetwork.org/donate.  Each $25 donation will support one gas or food card for a family battling childhood cancer. Pinwheels for Hope organizers hope to raise more than $20,000 by September 30 to support this basic needs program.

Pinwheels for Hope will take place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 27 and 28. Online donations are open throughout September, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. To make a donation either onsite at the event or online can visit at www.childrenscancernetwork.org/donate.
