The Talking Stick Resort Entertainment District is about to even more exciting.

An announcement was made this week that the opening of the Great Wolf Lodge will be pushed up and will open sooner than originally expected.

General manager Brian Johnson said the 350-room resort is on schedule to open in three weeks on Sept. 18, 2019. Originally, the resort was expected to open in the middle of October.

“There is great news today and I am howling,” Johnson said. “We’ve had great partners..and we’ve been tracking key milestones as we’ve gone along,” he said. “We’ve met those milestones and now we can open earlier so everyone is just so excited.”

The resort is located in the Talking Stick Entertainment District on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, near the Loop 101 and Via de Ventura. It is across from Salt River Fields at Talking Stick.

Construction crews are busy working on the Adventure Park, which will include a ropes course, miniature golf, and a four-lane bowling alley, as well as the impressive 85,000-square-foot indoor water park.

The indoor water park is kept at comfortable 84-degrees year-round and includes a lazy river, wave pool, a large play structure with a 1,000-gallon bucket that dumps water every couple of minutes. The park also includes several tube slides and raft rides that are fun for the entire family.

The resort will offer a wide variety of dining establishments that include nine places for guests and the public to eat and drink, including Barnwood, its signature restaurant, Ben & Jerry’s and Dunkin.

The Arizona Great Wolf Resort will also be home to the “Diamondback Drop,” a new high-speed four-person raft slide that drops its riders into a 360-degree coil. This ride is unique to the Arizona location.

Access to the water park is reserved for guests staying at the resort, however, the resort’s Adventure Park and restaurants will be open to the general public.

Reservations can be booked at www.greatwolf.com with standard rooms start at $179.99.
