An iconic Phoenix ice cream shop that residents have enjoyed over several decades is making a comeback.

Mary Coyle’s Ol’ Fashion Ice Cream has been serving up fantastic ice cream in Phoenix since 1951, known for making All of their ice cream in house.

The parlor dished out goodness from their original location across the street from Phoenix Community College on Thomas Road. The restaurant has made several moves over the years. Their most recent locations were at Seventh Avenue and Missouri, then at Seventh Street and Bethany Home Road. Both of these locations have closed, leaving customers wondering if the Phoenix staple was gone for good.

Ice cream connoisseur fret no longer. Reports claim that Mary Coyle’s is set to open in a new spot in September. Construction is already underway

Shortly after Labor Day, Mary Coyle’s will open their new location at Tapestry on Central, in the heart of mid-town Phoenix. The exact address is 2302 N. Central Avenue. Tapestry is located near Central Avenue and Encanto Blvd., adjacent to the Willow District. It has direct access to the light rail and will be conveniently located just steps away from the Heard Museum and the Phoenix Art Museum.

Diners can expect more than 20 ice cream flavors and tasty creations including sherbet, sorbet, ice cream sundaes, and “showboats,” which are 5- or 7-scoop sundaes topped with sauces, whipped cream, and other toppings.
