The taco party of the season is celebrating eight years in Chandler on Saturday, Sept. 14.

The Rockin’ Taco Street Fest returns to the East Valley with more than a dozen local restaurants and food trucks. Current restaurants signed on to participate include: Taco Guild, Someburros, Chronic Tacos, Taco Chiwas, Mr. Mesquite, Elmer’s Tacos, Modern Tortilla, United Lunchadores, Nandos, Superfarm Supertruck, Honey Bears BBQ,Las Palmas Cantina, Ghett Yo Taco, International Truck of Tacos, Willie’s Taco Joint and Drive Wood Fired Grill.

In addition to some incredible eats, people will enjoy wrestling, car shows, live music, fresh fruit frescas, mariachis, beer Micheladas, margaritas and eating competitions. The family-friendly event is a cultural celebration that boasts thousands of attendees from all over the Valley.

To purchase tickets for Rockin’ Taco Street Fest visit www.rockintacoaz.com but those who want to save 50% at the door can pick up tickets at all Food City, and Bashas’ locations throughout the Valley from Aug. 1 to Sept. 14. Kids 12 and under are free.

“The Rockin’ Taco Street Fest is one of our most popular signature events that we produce,” said Landon Evans, owner of HDE Agency. “We strive to build our community style events to be the best Arizona has to offer with activations that enhance the attendee’s experience. We look to reach 15,000 at this year’s celebration.”

Don’t miss all the fun on Saturday, Sept. 14, at Dr. A.J. Chandler Park, located at 178 E. Commonwealth Ave., the gates open at noon and the festivities run until 9 p.m.  Guests will experience mariachi performances walking and playing throughout the day. While meandering through, make sure to sign up for this year’s eating competition including elotes, burritos, and tacos. There will also be a dedicated Kid Zone for kids of all ages to join, a Piñata Party, a car show, and Lucha Libre VOS wrestling. Local and national bands B-Side Players, La Misa Negra and Evil Waze will also perform. The Las Palmas Cantina Margarita Hut is another feature that will include professional flair bartenders to entertain. The fun doesn’t stop thanks in part to the presenting sponsors El Jimador Tequila, Corona, Deep Eddy Vodka, Food City, and Bashas’.

“While the food is a featured element at Rockin’ Taco Street Fest, we strive to create an experience for our attendees,” said Evans.  “We have a bit of something for everyone whether it’s shopping, refreshing drinks, food aficionados, great entertainment and the list keeps going.”

This year’s 8th annual Rockin’ Taco Street Festival supports a great local non-profit partner, Junior Achievement of Arizona (JA). A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit JA, the world’s largest organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices. Today, JA reaches 4.8 million students per year in more than 100 markets across the United States, with an additional 5.6 million students served by operations in over 100 other countries worldwide. Visit www.ja.org for more information.
