At Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, American Airlines is the largest airline and it will soon add three new nonstop flights.

The new flights will begin on Dec. 18 and will occur daily during their seasonal run with  nonstop flights from New Orleans; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Wichita, Kansas. They will occur daily during their seasonal run.

The New Orleans and Cedar Rapids flights will occur until April 6, and the Wichita flight will stop on May 6.

American Airlines will start selling seats for those flights on July 1.

With the additional seasonal flights from the Midwest, it is expected to lure more tourists to Arizona seeking to escape the winter weather conditions. American is also testing out the possibility of Arizonans wanting to visit New Orleans for the popular Mardi Gras celebrations in Spring of 2020.

American had more than 20.7 million total passengers fly into or out of Sky Harbor in 2018. January through April of 2019, the American airline had a total passenger count just over 7 million. These passenger numbers reflect an increase of 1.5% compared to the January through April in 2018.
