A third airline has entered the low-fare competitive field with a new flight out of Sky Harbor International Airport.

Frontier Airlines recently announced plans to add service from Phoenix to Las Vegas beginning Sept. 6.

The Denver-based airline will offer a daily, year-round service between the two cities. Frontier will launch the service with an incredible introductory fare of $29 one-way on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, which are the days Frontier typically offers the lowest fares.

Like many airlines, Frontier charges extra for seat assignments, carry-on luggage and checked bags. It is recommended that you plan for those extra fees when comparing prices.

The addition of the Phoenix to Sin City route comes as part of an announcement that Frontier is adding nine new routes to its schedule. Many of the new routes will be directly to Las Vegas.

The Frontier addition is great news for Arizonans looking to book inexpensive flights as more airlines compete for the business. Sun Country is scheduled to begin service on September 5th with fares beginning starting at $39 one way. In addition, semiprivate airline JetSuiteX announced that they will launch service from Sky Harbor’s private Swift Aviation terminal on September 12th with low fares of just $79 one way.
